into the specific Trends I always like to look at what the colors of the year are from both Pantone and from Etsy these colors of the year are huge and this is a really good clue as to what colors we should be incorporating into any and all of our products this next year for 2023. so Pantone just announced their 2023 color of the year which is called Viva magenta Pantone describes this shade of red as a powerful and empowering animated red they also call it an electrifying and boundaryless shade this is a super bold color for 2023 and I'm totally here for it now Pantone is definitely the top color of the year that everyone looks to when deciding on color palettes for the next year but Etsy also determines their own colors as well sometimes they're similar to the Pantone color sometimes they're completely different but etsy's actually chosen two colors that are going to go along side by side together for 2023 and this is indigo and honeycomb Etsy has chosen the theme of Duality for 2023 and choosing two colors of the year go right along with is these Indigo and honeycomb colors go so well together they complement each other they bring out the best in each other so they can work as a really great pair so as we go through these Trends just keep those colors of the year in mind and think about how you could incorporate that into your products along with these trends that I'm going to be mentioning today now with these 12 Trends we're going to be breaking it down into two main categories which are decor and style with a few holiday specific ones thrown in there too so let's start with the decor Trends Trend number one is called Cozy home Etsy saying that Decor in 2023 needs to really create a homey and comfortable feel for every house and atmosphere that you could just feel like you could snuggle up in we're talking chunky knit blankets quilts and soft textures research shows that there's been a 96 year-over-year increase in the Etsy search for the term cozy room decor this shows us that anything comfy and cozy for the home is definitely trending and on the rise for this next year the core Trend number two is natural aesthetic this is talking about anything for for the home using base Hues of natural and neutral colors we're talking calming neutral Shades like moss Green Light blues and Clay colored Reds now a lot of people will be using those more calming Shades as the base Hues like I mentioned but also adding in pops of brighter colors for accents like pillows or candles all right moving on to Trend number three which is Desert Vibes for this trend think earthy tones and speckled textures picture a desert landscape and then any kind of room decor that might be inspired by that in either the aesthetic or the colors alright our next trend is called Jewel toned jungle for this one think a perfect mix between dark and Moody and natural and Whimsical the word jungle is in this trend for a reason so we're thinking about interesting patterns that are jungle themed consider shapes like banana leaves and Ferns and even tree frogs Etsy says there's been a 126 percent year-over-year increase in the search for the term dark floral wallpaper all right Trend number five is called contemporary cabin in this one's putting a new spin on the traditional rustic feel that we're used to by incorporating elements inspired by 70s boho designs so picture Furniture wall art and kitchenware that include detailed geometric Woodwork and moving on to Trend number six metallic accents we're talking home details in metallic Shades and finishes from accent pieces metal statement lighting anything with futuristic Vibes that also gives a nod to Y2K and 70s Space Age Decor there's been a 56 percent year-over-year increase on Etsy for the search term Space Age Decor so that wraps up our Decor Focus Trends we're about to move into some style Focus Trends but first I want to throw in a few holiday specific Trends specifically for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day because we know how important it is to be able to plan ahead and know what we're offering for gifting options for specific holidays so Trend number one for 2023
