Investors get excited about stock picking and end up buying every stock they hear about. They get bloated portfolios that never really go anywhere and they really don’t know what they own. That’s why a portfolio review is so important, to see what you own and what to do next.
In this video, I’ll show you three steps to review your portfolio and find the best stocks to buy. We’ll look at the trends and relationships between your winning and losing stocks as well as where the risks are in your portfolio. I’ll also show you how to use stock values to determine whether you should sell a stock, hold on or buy more.
The portfolio has done really well with stocks in the Energy and Financials sector as well as some of the early Healthcare stocks we bought. Later additions in Healthcare and Consumer Discretionary have not done as well so I need to reassess if I think the trend is still positive in those two sectors.
